A sting conducted by the Nassau County Narcotics/Vice Bureau and Bureau of Special Operations CIRRT unit caught a suspected drug dealer and three buyers. A 51-year-old man is suspected of selling drugs to three individuals from his 1998 BMW and cocaine drug possession. The four individuals were taken into custody.
The three people suspected of buying drugs from the dealer were ages 46, 56 and 28. One individual was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and was given a desk ticket. The other two individuals were charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. All were arraigned at New York’s First District Court.
The man suspected of selling the drugs allegedly had cash and an ounce of cocaine in his car. He is charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Drug offenses can bring about severe charges for those involved. These charges may result in higher fines and longer jail sentences than normal depending on the type of drug involved. An attorney might try to build a defense to challenge the search warrant or search process. If an unreasonable search was executed or an error was made during the search, an attorney may be able to fight the charges.
