An SUV allegedly crashed into two motorcycles outside of a New York state park. According to a top Queens prosecutor, a property owner in Astoria faces charges of petit larceny, fraud and grand larceny after he bilked several prospective tenants out of $17,000 in first month's rents and security deposits. According to a news report, a 26-year-old Troy woman was charged on Aug. 2 in connection with a scam worth nearly half a million dollars. The woman allegedly filed a fictitious claim with the One Fund of Boston in an attempt to receive $480,000 for injuries she never incurred.The One Fund of Boston was created to help victims of the Boston Marathon Bombings. New York physician charged with selling prescriptions

A New York physician with offices in Baldwin and Queens was taken into custody on allegations that he was illegally selling painkiller prescriptions to two patients. He was arraigned on two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in Nassau County Court.The doctor was allegedly selling oxycodone prescriptions for $250 without a medical exam or documentation. According to authorities, the doctor made nearly $1.5 million over the course of two years. The drug charges were brought against the doctor following a year-long investigation which began after police had taken one of his patients into custody.
